Ticks
Symptoms
A small white lump protruding from the skin of the horse. Heavy burdens can cause anaemia and poor condition. Ticks can carry diseases which may be transmitted to the horse and the bites may become infected or abscesses may develop.
Cause
A small biting insect which feeds on the horses fluids.
Treatment
Horses grazing on rough ground are more susceptible. Good pasture should be provided which will also prevent other ailments or loss of condition. Sprays and wipes can be used which will kill the ticks on the horse.
